NKJ Genesis 4:25-26
And Adam knew his wife again, and she bore a son and named him Seth, “For God has appointed another seed for me instead of Abel, whom Cain killed.” And as for Seth, to him also a son was born; and he named him Enosh. Then men began to call on the name of the LORD.

NKJ Genesis 4:25

Translation:

And Adam knew the wife of him yet again, and she brought forth a son and she proclaimed the name for him

Seth [meaning compensation ]

And Adam knew the wife of him yet again,

Hebrew for To knowAncient hebrew Pictograph for yadah yah-da`' Pictures of an eye, a tent opening, and an arm

to know, to know of a person carnally

Root: Ancient Hebrew Pictograph for Witness

Action: to see

Abstract: knowledge Picture of an eye and a tent opening“the door of the eye”

…as the eye is the window into a person’s very being.

Experience is gained through visual observation, and knowledge is gained through these experiences.

Hebrew for witness or again Ancient hebrew Pictograph for Ode`ode Picture of a tent opening, a twist of chordage and an eye

…as coming to a tent of meeting and entering in, denoting a place, time or event that is repeated again and again.

As witness, an event or persons testimony recounting another event or person.

And Again

And Adam knew the wife of him yet again,

Hebrew for witness or again Ancient hebrew Pictograph for Ode`ode Picture of a tent opening, a twist of chordage and an eye

yet again, adverb

Word:Ancient hebrew pictograph for To Ode “a repeating of something again and again”

This expression denotes an event that is part of a sequence of the same event that is being repeated, implying that this was certainly not merely the 3rd time Adam had known his wife in this manner.

Overall implication:
Adam and Eve had already given birth to many children prior to Seth.

and she brought forth a son

and “she gave birth to” a son

and she proclaimed the name for him

and “she proclaimed” the name for him

she gave birth to a son and she proclaimed the name for him Seth

Seth Hebrew for Sethsheyth "compensation"

and she proclaimed the name for him Seth

name Hebrew for Namesheym

Action: to breathe

concrete: a breath …as in the wind, or breath of someone or something is its character.

Abstract: desolate

Hebrew names are words given to describe character.

It is the breath of a person that makes one what he is.

So, the name is more than an identifier, but is descriptive of one’s character.

Seth Hebrew for Sethsheyth "compensation"

Action: to sit

Concrete: buttocks …as in the place of sitting.

Denotes a foundation as a level place of seating.

I am not absolutely certain as to what we should make of the name for Seth having to do with “foundation” other than it being an obvious reference to the promised Seed to come, and in the corresponding sense of Christ’s intervention into the affairs of mankind.

Seth certainly qualifies to be considered the “foundation” of the Christ to come both genealogically and prototypically.

It would certainly explain how it was that Seth was the product of God’s ordination and not the product of man’s will.

NKJ Romans 9:8
That is, those who are the children of the flesh, these are not the children of God; but the children of the promise are counted as the seed.

NKJ Romans 8:9
But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not His.

because [first, to explain the reason for the naming]

Hebrew for Becauseis used meaning because, in sentences giving the explanation of a proper name; it gives the reason for a suppressed `Why do I say this?'

Answer–

God had appointed-unto-me [treated as one word]

because God had appointed-unto-me (or “ordained-for-me,” as in direction not properly motion; that is, an ordination from God directed toward her) a seed; namely, another seed.

The character of the above Hebrew idiom implies that some waiting was involved in the process; with the implication being that she had given birth to many children prior to Seth, and that at his arrival she knew he was a seed of a special quality corresponding to the fulfillment of Yahweh’s original promise of a “Seed” of redemptive significance.

because [second, to explain the reason for the replacement]

God had appointed-unto-me [treated as one word]

because God (Elohim) had ordained-unto-me a Seed; namely, another Seed instead of Abel

The original text uses two words to express the replacement itself: another and instead of.

Hebrew for Anotherakh-air' Ancient Hebrew Pictograph for Another

While this word is translated “another,” the ancient root of it Ancient Hebrew Pictograph for To Burn denotes the action, to burn, as in “outside man,” a meaning we discovered a few messages ago.

because [second, to explain the reason for the replacement]

The text uses two words to express the replacement itself: another and instead of.

The full first word Hebrew for Anotherakh-air' Ancient Hebrew Pictograph for Another means:

Action: to delay The meaning of this word is descriptive in terms of functionality. Rather than work in the heat of the sun, one waits until the breeze of the days to do so.

Thus far, another would properly read, “a delayed one

because [second, to explain the reason for the replacement] The text uses two words to express the replacement itself: another and instead of.

The implication is quite dramatic!

Essentially, Abel served the purposes of God as a decoy in order to throw the devil off guard, who thought that he had managed to murder the real Seed before it could cause him any problems.

If that idea seems to you to radically depart from the Scriptures, think again.

This scenario is not that different from John the Baptizer, who was aware all along that he was ordained as a prophet and predecessor as of a type of Christ, and that the promised Christ would come after him, etc.

And this John was also martyred in anticipation of the Christ that was to come, in case he was the real Prophet.

Saint John the Baptist and Saint Abel the Shepherd…

But, let’s continue…

Again, a replacement of the seed would not have been necessary if Abel had actually been the Seed of promise for God.

because [second, to explain the reason for the replacement]

The text uses two words to express the replacement itself: another and instead of.

Hebrew for Underneath takh'-ath Ancient Hebrew Pictograph for Takhath

Concrete: under

As a preposition, to be underneath in the sense of being in place of something or someone else; hence, instead of.

In other words, take away the decoy, the cover, the look-alike, and there you will find the real thing; in this instance, (the Christ-Seed-in-type).

Translation:

…because God (Elohim) had ordained-unto-me a Seed; namely, a delayed Seed and a hidden Seed to replace Abel.

Again, a replacement of the seed would not have been necessary if Abel had actually been the true Seed of promise of salvation in the line of Christ.

By now, you should be beginning to realize how smart and intelligent God actually is.

Stop giving too much credit to the wily devil.

Start trusting more in the power of God in Christ to keep you.

NKJ Genesis 3:15
And I will put enmity Between you and the woman, And between your seed and her Seed; He shall bruise your head, And you shall bruise His heel."

NKJ Genesis 4.26
And as for Seth, to him also a son was born; and he named him Enosh. Then men began to call on the name of the LORD.

Now pointing to Seth, in~addition~he [Hebrew for In Addition He] had been delivered a son; and he proclaimed his name Enosh (man); at that time God perforated history with a practice that was caused to begin; namely, to call out, upon the name of Yahweh.

I will explain…

Up to this point men had been “begetting sons.”

With regard to Seth, there is a difference in expression used. The expression “in~addition~he [Hebrew for In Addition He ]” is significant.

In addition to whom?

In addition to Eve having given birth to a Seed-type; that is, “Seth, in addition to the event with Eve, had been delivered a son,” with the implication being that his son was also foundational in the line that would eventually lead to the birth of the Christ to come.

Then men began to call on the name of the LORD.

To explain……at that time it( the following practice) was caused to begin (hophal- causative passive 0.6%); namely, to call out, upon the name of Yahweh

There is a lot more going on here than meets the eye.

he main word of concern is Hebrew for Men Began Ancient Hebrew Pictograph for Khalalkhah-lal' which has been translated “men began.”

First, it was not men per se, who began this practice.

This was a practice that was initiated by an act of God, not one emanating from, or the invention of man.

Then men began to call on the name of the LORD.

Root: ncient Hebrew Pictograph for Khal Hebrew for HoleEnglish: hole

Action: to bore

Concrete: a hole …as a hole is drilled with a tool called a bow drill.

Abstract: pain

The string of the bow is wrapped around the drill.

Paiting of Egyptian with a bowdrill A photo of an ancient bowdrill

By moving the bow back and forth, and firmly pressing down, the drill spins around drilling the hole.

Then men began to call on the name of the LORD.

Full Word: Ancient Hebrew Pictograph for Khalal Hebrew for To call khah-lal

Action: to bore

Concrete: a flute …as anything that is bored through, perforated or drilled.

I. to pierce

II. to begin

The spot to be drilled is first scored to make an indentation to accept the drill and the beginning of the drilling is the difficult as the drill can easily slip out.

A photo of an ancient bowdrill

Let’s put this together…

The main idea is that God at that specifically designated time, pierced, drilled, began, intervened into the history of mankind, causing hearts of many to be inclined toward the Lord in witness, worship, and prayer; in recognition of His Lordship.

Literal Translation:

…at that time God perforated history with a practice that was caused to begin; namely, to call out, upon the name of Yahweh.

Implication:

This moment marked the beginning of a personal relationship with many to call out, to cry out, to utter a loud sound unto the Lord God in praise, but usually for help, for direction, for wisdom in critical decisions, invoking the use of the name of the Lord in reference to His participation in the daily affairs of man as compared to the past when man did not give Him much consideration, and generally regarded Him as irrelevant in their lives.

This time marks a significant piercing of God into history, moving in a new direction toward establishing many persons in a personal relationship with Yahweh, while mankind in general existed in a state of common grace.

God’s timing is strategic, and it is important that we should be prepared for the major events that God has set into place by seeking a personal relationship with the Lord while we can.

Many will be surprised on the Day of Judgment when they discover that it was just as the Word of God says; only the righteousness of Christ is able to save you.All men are sinners and no one can save himself. God is just, so He must punish sin; but He is also merciful, moreover gracious, and offers His Son as the perfect sacrifice in order to purchase a place for you in heaven, which He offers to you as the free gift of eternal life. As we continue to examine man’s earliest duties with regard to the covenant of works, although they can be categorically divided into two distinct types of classes; one in relationship with God, and the other in relationship with fellow man, all covenant stipulations are expressions of the will of the Lord. The law of the covenant is the law of man’s image-sonship.

Jesus is God Incarnate

In order to pay the debt of our sins, He came from Heaven, having been sent by the Father, where He lived a life of perfect obedience to the Father even unto the shameful death upon the cross in order to pay the debt of your sins. This gift must be received by faith, believing that Jesus’ perfect life and Cross Work was His complete and necessary Atonement for your sins, in your behalf.Faith is a gift that comes by the Power of God the Holy Spirit working in a person’s innermost being. The Holy Spirit has the authority and power to quicken your dead spirit, to make it come to life. If you have not done so before this moment, ask Jesus to forgive you your sins, tell Him you’ve stop trying to be your own savior, and ask Him to come into your life right now, and to give you eternal life. Then, in faith believing, thank Him for the gift that He is giving you, the one He paid for in full in your place, in Jesus’ name,AMEN
