People were bringing their little children to Jesus so that He would put His hands on them, and
pray. The disciples rebuked these people; but Jesus said, “Suffer little children, and forbid them
not, to come unto Me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven.” And he laid His hands on them,
and departed thence. (Matthew 19:13-15)
It’s important for parents and extended family (including the family of God) to rear children in
the nurture and admonition of the Lord. Deuteronomy 6:6, 7 sits in a passage dealing with
remembering God every day and tells us what to do: "
And these words, which I command you this day,
Shall be in your heart: and you shall teach them diligently
to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you lie down, and when you rise up.
In the course of everyday life we are to teach, tell, show, and example to children the Word of
God and Jesus, the Living Word. So, the story goes like this.
Recently, our daughter was visiting with her three children. The oldest was three at the time.
There was just this sense that the Holy Spirit was moving in Lauren, so one night we gathered in
the living room and I told the story of Blister the Lamb and presented the gospel with the help of
the “wordless book.” We knew the Holy Spirit was in it because Lauren sat there through the
whole thing with rapt attention; and then she wanted Jesus in her life.
I told the story at Craighouse® and shortly after another grandmother wanted her grandchildren
to hear the story of Blister the Lamb and the gospel. So one Friday night the family came to
Craighouse® and we gave over the teaching time to tell the gospel story to the children. We’ve had many respond to the recording of that night and have decided to send it out to you and also to have it available on our web site, www.marycraig.org.
It is also available online at Yourlisten.com
It’s a live broadcast, folks, so keep that in mind. It’s unedited! Keep that in mind.
Here it is for you to learn from, listen to, and let the children come to Jesus. P.S. If you’d like to be part of our “download group” and receive MCM teachings and handouts, let us know and
we’ll add your e-mail address to the list. We’re growing; God is good.
